Chigusa Hanamura (花村 千種 Hanamura Chigusa) is a friend of Gou and a second-year high school student at Iwatobi High School.
Appearance
Chigusa has brownish orange hair styled in a high bun; it is held together with a pink barrette adorned with three small roses. She has pale skin and light blue-green eyes. She is slightly taller than Gou.
Her typical school uniform consists of a light-brown skirt, white shirt with a red bow tie, beige long sleeved jumper, dark gray button-up blazer, dark gray socks and black shoes.
During the spring and summer, she would wear her summer uniform, which consists of a gray skirt, white shirt with dark gray collar, red dotted bow tie, beige sleeveless jumper, white socks and pink shoes.
Personality
Chigusa seems to be a very curious and inquisitive individual, since she cares a lot about Gou's relationship with Haruka, Makoto and Nagisa. She always forgets to address Gou as "Kou," which results in Gou getting upset and correcting her. In addition, she is considerably athletic; she runs much faster than Gou and she often has to stop and wait for Gou to catch up with her.

- Her first name "Chigusa" means a thousand ways. "Chi" = thousand, "gusa" = way. Her last name "Hanamura" means something like flower village. "Hana" = flower, "mura" = village.
- Her Japanese voice actress, Satomi Satō, also provides the voice for a young Nagisa Hazuki.
- Her English voice actress, Tia Ballard, also provides the voice for a young Kisumi Shigino.
