High☆Speed! (ハイ☆スピード!, Hai☆Supīdo!) is a novel written by Kōji Ōji and is the original concept of the anime Free!, which obtained an "Honorable Mention" from the Kyoto Animation Awards 2011. The second volume of High☆Speed! is said to be published on July 2, 2014.

The novel participated in the Kyoto Animation Awards 2011, where it received second place in the novel category[1] and an "Honorable Mention". The anime Free! was later created, based on this novel.
Official Announcement
High☆Speed! will be published on 8 July 2013 at the KA Esuma Library.[1] The book is illustrated by Futoshi Nishiya, who is also responsible for the character design of the anime.[2]
Synopsis
The story of the novel is about Haruka, Rin, Makoto and Nagisa's swimming team in their elementary school.[1]
