Ikuya Kirishima (桐嶋 郁弥 Kirishima Ikuya) was the first year junior high student who debuted in the second volume of the light novel High☆Speed! written by Kōji Ōji, he is also a main character in the movie High☆Speed!-Free! Starting Days-.[1] He is the younger brother of the club's captain, Natsuya Kirishima.
Appearance
Ikuya is a feminine looking young man with teal hair, orange eyes and long, black eyelashes. He and his brother do not look particularly alike, but have the same eye color.
Personality
In the beginning, Ikuya was rather quiet, cynical, and distrustful of others. He gradually started to warm up to his friends, eventually trusting them, though he still retains the quiet part of his personality.
History
At first he was reluctant about joining the swimming club, thinking of it as just "playing around" and not taking things seriously. After joining he's able to change thanks to his team, leaving his past behind. He is a childhood friend of Nii Satomi (only appears in the light novel). In the begging of Free! Timeless Medley Kisuna (Bonds), it is shown that after Haru quit the swim club, Ikuya got mad at him leading to a situation similar to the fight beetwen Haru and Rin that made Haru quit the swim club. In the Free! Timeless medley: Promises movie, Ikuya was shown in Yamazaki Sousuke's flashback during one of the competitions. The flashback shows Ikuya swimming the individual medley and winning, surprising Rin as he said that Ikuya was Haru's friend. Around the very end of Free! Timeless Medley: Yakusoku, Sousuke tells Rin about Ikuya, stating that his swimming is the same as Haru.
